Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling

Shocking

The Harry Potter series comes to an end. Sigh. My cousin, my brother and I used to always talk about the Harry Potter book's every time we saw each other. We were all huge fans of the Harry Potter series. We used to play Hogwarts, like playing school only with the Hogwarts teachers and instead of doing like math we did wizard subjects like Potions. One time we were playing charades and it turned in Harry Potter charades.

My cousin, brother and I would try to think of how this book is going to end, before it came out. We knew one of them was going to die. We though Voldemort might kill Harry and then Neville kills Voldemort. We thought of many thinks but never thought of how it did end. I was also shocked by all the deaths in this book. I thinks it sad how one of the twins died I don't know how the other one could go on with out him.

This book was very surprising. I was surprised how Dudley actually cared about Harry at the end. I loved this bookk! It's my favorite out of the series. I thought i wasn't going to like it as much as i did because they weren't at Hogwarts and i really liked that part of the book.

I was also surprised by Snape! I really thought he was bad all a long but I was wrong. He is good! I also was surprised to see that he like loved Lilly.

I had only one bad thing to say about this book. I would of liked to known what jobs everyone had. They said Neville was a teacher but what about everyone else.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

Like Cinderella

I enjoyed this book. Its not like the movie at all but still good.

Ella was given a gift when she was born. The gift of obedience. She has to obey whatever anyone tells her.

Ella's mom died when she was young but she ordered Ella not to tell anyone about the gift because they would take advantage of her.

Ella was now brought up by her dad who's job involved him not being home a lot so she was mostly with her servant. Her dad was very rich until one day he lost all his money. So he married a rich woman. A fairy gave them the gift that they would always love each other. Ella's dad was horrified for he only married her for the money. So he spent even less time at home and was gone for months. Ella's new step mom and two step sisters were very mean. Her on step sister Hattie figured out that Ella did what ever you said but didn't know why. Hattie used it to her advantage.

Ella got to know the Prince, Char. Char went away for awhile and Ella and Char wrote letters to each other. One time Char wrote to her that he loved her. Ella loved him back but was worried because if they got married enemies could order her to tell secrets about the prince or order to kill him. So Ella wrote a letter to him saying that she left and married a rich guy and signed it by Hattie.

Char was having a ball that you wore mask to. Ella went but acted if she was someone else. Char spent most of his time with her than anyone other girl. Most girls took off their mask but Ella kept hers on so he wouldn't know it was her. Hattie was at the ball to but didn't know it was Ella under the mask either. Hattie got jelous that Char spend so much time with this girl so she unmasked her. So now Char knew it was Ella. Ella ran back home.

Char went to her house. He told Ella to marry him. It was a command. She had to obey. But she refused. She fought it. And by refusing she broke the spell. So she married Char.

The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis

Good

This is another book I read in reading class. I thought this one was good.

This book is about Kenny and his brother Byron and how trouble Byron gets in.

Byron kisses his reflection in the car review mirror and gets his lips stuck to it. His mom has to pull him off the mirror. Byron also tease Kenny alot.

Byron's mom and dad are tierd of Byron getting into so much trouble so they send him to his grandma's because she is very strict. Right away when Byron is there he is more polite and calls his grandma Mam.

While Byron and his family was with his grandma the kids, Byron, Kenny and, Joey, went to the beach. Grandma told them not to go to Collier's landing because someone had drowned there. But Kenny wanted to go anyways but Byron said no so Kenny went by himself and he almost drowned but Byron saved him and they decided not to the adults about what happened.

A bad incident causes Byron and his family to leave early. One day everyone hears a loud bombing noise. Some one comes by the house to say that someone bombed the church Joey, Kenny and Byron's sister, is at. Joey luckily is O.K though. She was outside because it was to hot in the church. When she was out there she thought she saw Kenny, but it wasn't him, and she chased after him, so when the church got bombed she wasn't there.

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, Wilson Rawls

O.K

This book was O.K. I read it in my reading class. I thought the boy cried to much. Also the book was kinda boring at some parts.

The book is about a boy, Billy, and a relationship with his dogs. He really wants two red-hound dogs. He saves up his money for two years and finally gets two red-hound dogs. The dogs are small and most people think they won't good hunting dogs. But they end up the best hunting dog. Some mean boys, the Pritchard boys, say that their dog is better than Billy's and challenge him to try to catch a "ghost coon". The "ghost coon" is a very old coon who no one has ever caught. The Pritchard boys bet a dollar that Billy's dogs can't tree it and Billy bets they can. Billy trees the coon but the Pritchard boys say he has to kill it too. Billy doesn't want to kill it because the coon has been there for so long and he would feel bad.

Billy and his dogs also when a championship trophy and a money prize. Billy gives the money to his mom and dad. They use the money to move to town so they can get a better education.

This book has some very sad parts. A lot of people cried in my class at one part.

boring

I did not eve finish this book. I borrowed from someone who said it was very good. I end up giving back before i finished saying sorry but i though it was boring.

I thought it would be more about the wicked witch and Dorthy, but the parts I read weren't, although it's true I did not get very far into book but still that part i did read did not interest me.

Although some parts were alright. I thought some parts in the begging were OK when she was first a child like when they met the one guy who was lost or something. But even that part was to long and boring. Some parts when she was at school were OK too, like when she tried hooking up her roommate and this other kid.

I sorta would of wished i would of read a little longer because it sounded like her sister was started to get in the story and I wanted to hear about that. But I didn't injoy reading the book and unless its a a book im reading for school i dont read books that bore me.

I stopped reading when she was at school and I think she was on her summer vacation or something but she was still at the school.
